1. Professional registration
A seller who applies for professional status pays a one-time £15 registration fee. There is no monthly professional subscription.
The application is not approved merely because payment succeeds. Valdeni reviews the business information and required provider status before activating professional selling.
If verification fails before approval, a duplicate charge occurs, the provider reports an error, or a statutory refund right applies, the registration payment can be refunded. After successful activation it is normally non-refundable.
2. Business information and public disclosures
A professional seller must provide accurate legal form, legal and trading names, service and registered-office details where applicable, contact information, company or registration numbers, VAT status and other information required for consumer, payment or tax compliance.
The legally required business disclosure is shown to buyers and on relevant orders after approval. Private verification, tax and payment records are kept separate from public profile information.
The seller must correct inaccurate information after a notice and must not use a professional profile to conceal the person or entity responsible for the sale.
3. Verification providers and public registers
Stripe handles payment onboarding and identity-document checks needed for payouts. Valdeni receives status and reference information but does not ask the seller to upload copies of Stripe identity documents into Valdeni's ordinary application storage.
For a UK company or LLP, Valdeni can check public Companies House information. Companies House identity verification obligations are separate legal duties of directors, people with significant control and other relevant roles.
A successful public-register check does not guarantee solvency, product quality or compliance with every seller obligation.
4. Digital-platform reporting
UK digital-platform rules can require Valdeni to collect, verify and report seller identity and transaction information to HM Revenue & Customs and to provide the seller with a copy of the reported information.
The goods-reporting exception generally applies where a seller makes fewer than 30 sales of goods and receives no more than €2,000 in the reportable period. Valdeni can still need information to determine whether the exception applies.
Platform reporting is not a new tax and does not itself mean that tax is due. Each seller is responsible for their own records, registrations, returns and tax advice.
5. Missing or overdue information
If required seller information is missing or cannot be verified, Valdeni can notify the seller and restrict new selling after the stated correction period. The current compliance workflow can restrict new selling after 7 days and make an unresolved case eligible for closure review after 21 days.
Closure is not automatic. Valdeni reviews the circumstances, open transactions, legal duties and any response before taking further action. Existing orders, refunds, records and reporting duties remain in force.
